Jewel has a "JEWEL"

A couple minutes after birth. Nice to have a little color on the blog.

The Beautiful paint mare owned by Elaine Ashenbrenner foaled a nice colt this morning at the farm. She is the first paint mare to foal at Granite Falls Thoroughbred farm. Elaine and Dale Ashenbrenner, long-time friends asked us to foal their "Gaming mare " ---(Pole bending, barrel racing ,etc. ) champion mare Jewel. Nice rather uneventful birth-and Jewel is making a good mother.



Eduvides helping "the Kid" to steady his limbs soon after birth. He is the best hand at getting mares to "mother-up" and getting the babies to nurse.
